Welcome to the website of David Dickson. Thank you for dropping by.
As you can see, this is a very simple, no frills or flash site. It is only a showcase of my work and a means of communicating with people who may have similar taste in my design style.
I am a goldsmith and jewellery designer from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I have been practicing my craft for almost forty years. I do all my own work, including Diamond setting and all precious metal alloying and fabrication. The only thing I contract out is casting the wax carvings I produce. I do try to fabricate most of my pieces by hand, however, many of my Sterling Silver designs are only possible using the lost wax casting method. Any gold accents are usually hand forged.
Large designs, such as this 14KT pearl enhancer shown here, I had to carve & have cast, accept for the drop bezel holding the Mabe Pearl.......
This Celtic cross below was handmade in Silver as a model for the 18KT piece later molded and cast......
This 18KT gold cocktail ring is totally hand forged...
As well as creating jewellery I enjoy carving hardwoods and sculpting sailing related art objects
This box was made of Cocobolo and maple, with a forged Sterling silver lid........
Inside the bottom of the box, the client asked for a silver plaque to be engraved which I riveted inside............
A project which I am still finishing the seascape for is shown below......
This Sterling Silver & 14KT Gold sculpture is in a cocobolo hull,
on an angel step maple base. I am forging a Sterling Silver seascape for it before I decide on a finish for the wood.
I look forward to adding more content to this site as time permits....
